Baitcon attendee has Lyme disease
I didn't attend this year, but I have a livejournal account and he doesn't, so he asked me to post this.
----------------
Here is a writeup if you know where to send it:
I got lyme disease from the time at Baitcon. Thought I would list the symptoms to warn others.
I did check for ticks after getting back and did not see any. I guess you need to check daily. The ticks are very small, so it is possible I missed it; however the spot that the doctor thought was the likely site was not "hidden" - it was on my leg so I think I would have seen it if it had still been there.
Symptoms that I had:
Bad headaches lasting 3-4 days, before clearing up.
Extreme Fatigue for a two days with some dizzyness.
Some aches.
Big red splotches with "black and blue" bruises inside. They differed from ordinary bruises in that they didn't hurt -rather iched and seemed to
spread. Note you don't always get these splotches first.
Eventually, you get a high fever, but I caught it before that occurred.
I felt sick for a few days but then felt better, so for me it was the splotches that got me to check on it. If you catch it in time antibiotics are able to clear it up and you should be fine.
