an ice cream I'd never seen before

[squid ink ice cream]

At Sea Salt in Minnehaha Park, where I wandered with [livejournal.com profile] silentmachine's roommates on Friday afternoon to go see the falls.

We asked and the guy behind the counter said it really was made with squid ink, and tastes somewhat like black cherry.

I hadn't noticed it at first, and already had my ice cream. Silly me, I didn't go back and ask for a taste. Anyone bringing squid ink?

A reminder that many people are allergic to shellfish. Yes, squid ink counts. Such ingredients had bloody well better be well-labeled.

Thank you.

The labeling system and serving table separation will be in effect again.

why don't you call them for the recipe and a supply of ink? tell them "one time only unique camping experience". might loosen them up.

for those of us not allergic to food, bring it on, but do label it. more for us :)

sweet lobster icecream rocks out too :)

I'd love to know where you find a supply of squid ink, if you do.
I'll be making risotto with it, though. No sense of ice cream adventure
when it comes to squid ink. :)
