Henna

So, I've already posted this once in my journal.
Who here would be interested in playing with Henna? It's something I've recently learned more about, and I figure Baitcon would be a good venue for group henna painting. I'd like to get an aprox. headcount. I'll be bringing some regardless but if there is a large interest I will need to ask for folks to help with contributions of money or supplies. By supplies I mean quality henna powder (my fave is Jamila, most Indian groceries carry it), gloves (cotton, latex, or non-latex), saran wrap, lemon juice, tea tree oil, fine point paint brushes, needle tip squeeze bottles (often called jac bottles), icing bags, or mylar gift wrap. This page has more info on ways of appling henna, and just about everything else you'd want to know on the subject. I will be shopping for henna and extra supplies this Wed. Please respond BEFORE NOON, this Wed. July 27.

Trailer parking and clustering.

So this year we'll be bringing ye ol' popup trailer again (folks the last couple events I'm sure have seen it - it looks like this). The problem is, the last few times we've gotten there very early, and been able to sort of wiggle into a good spot where the trailer can open and be set up in level space.

This year we're sleeping 4 or so folks in it, BUT we're not getting there til later (8-10pm-ish, due to the closing on Homeport :-/ ).

The questions is - is anyone getting there early and wants to share space, in exchange for staking out access-ways fro me to get the trailer in once we arrive? Last year we clustered 2 camper trailers together and tarped them over - creating a sort of mini-community. If we could park in almost the same spot (facing the 'parking lot' with the big cargo truck on your left, and the driveway heading out to the road going out to your right, the spot is just off the parking lot corner ahead and to the right). There's 2 accessways into that space (through the parking lot or in from the side).

In exchange for this service would be access to our propane stove, DC/AC Inverter, electrical lights, and camp chairs as needed. It doesn't look rainy this weekend, so we shouldnt' have to rig the tarps, but eternal gratitude would be bestowed upon ye.

Flipside is - anyone else bringing a trailer? I sort of like parking them nearby - it makes for a small town-like setting :)

I'll be bringing some art supplies to Baitcon, and looking for people to act as models. I prefer nude models, so I thought I might set up down by the creek, but I could be interested in dressed models, too. If you've never modeled before, and are interested in trying, let me know--you can either reply here, drop me some email, or just ask me at the con. If you hear anyone expressing curiosity and interest who might not have read this post, let them know, too, that I'm psyched to have new people model.

I'm particularly interested in amateur and "non-traditional" models-- when I draw from professional models the drawings all come out with approximately the same "art school" feel to them that doesn't interest me so much right now.

I won't paint anyone nude without permission, and if I sketch you doing some random activity, the chances of it being identifiable are pretty low. :-) Still, if being sketched is a horrific thought to you best to let me know.

I'll also bring an extra easel or two and extra materials if anyone else wants to draw. Feel free to ask.
