I just love 6 hours in the ER

but Adira is better,sort of.

She has gastroenteritis caused by a virus. This has impact on those who spent time with her all weekend, like 176 of my closest friends. If you get sick, here's a good bet.She got IV fluids and will be doing the fluids, nintendo and tv thing tomorrow. My apologies if you or your children get this.Hopefully it will be of short duration.

I am bad mother in that, while getting her looked at in the ER for severe abdominal cramping,I did have the small thought in the back of my mind "but...but...I only have 50 pages left in harry Potter, can't this wait 20 minutes?"

oy. I hope she's better soon.

I hope Kata has inherited her mom's stomach of steel; she played with Adira a bunch over the weekend.

Kata is also nursing, so if she does get sick it probably won't be as severe, because you will make antibodies for it in your milk. (Also, she will probably be able to keep human milk down when nothing else will work.)

Benjamin did have a bit where he couldn't keep down even breast milk however, although I think the problem was that we let him have *way* too much too fast. It only lasted a few hours, so we weren't particularly worried.

Thanks for the heads up, hope she's better soon! And enjoy the book :^)

So you feel she arrived at Baitcon with it, or no?

I felt pretty bad abdominal cramping also during the weekend, mainly the early parts of Saturday. Immodium seemed to be sufficient. I wondered if some food item/a dairy intolerance might have brought it on. But am alright now.

i was rather off my feed sunday morning and spent a couple visits in the loo and well, despite then being low blood sugared, cranky, crampy and moody, a few hours later, and a bowl of soup, i was feeling much MUCH better. still felt kinda flushed until i got home, and a hot shower and good night's sleep. today was lovely.

wasn't icecream as far as i know, and the only thing i had prior was the beef; couldn't tell you if it was related.

at least it's not the great con crud of ought something back in the day (which i missed out on)

Poor Adira. :-( I'm glad she is feeling a bit better.

Benjamin may have had some milder version of this Sunday night. (At least he conveniently waited to actually demonstrate the more messy symptoms until we got home and lifted him out of the car.) He was very low energy Monday and still pretty miserable (although no longer throwing up), but is back to his usual manic self now.
