[identity profile] tikva.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] baitcon
Hi, folks.

I just want to apologize to everyone in Cabin B for the disturbances on Friday night. Brodie barked every time someone walked by our cabin, and since we were in the front cabin, that was a lot. :( I was absolutely mortified, and would gladly have taken the dog and slept in the car for the night, but the car was parked in such a way that I wouldn't have been able to get in. (If it's any consolation, we also woke up every time she barked, so we didn't get much sleep either). [livejournal.com profile] bester and I agreed that it would be unfair to expect folks to go through that two nights in a row, so we headed home on Saturday afternoon. But thank you all so much for your patience and for not coming after us with pitchforks.

In future years, I will either request a back cabin, request a hut, or leave the Brodester at home and try to cane it for the weekend. Please do not hold Brodie's behavior against other guide dogs who might attend Baitcon in the future, as many of them are a lot quieter than our Ms. Muppet.

Upon arrival home, her behavior for the rest of the weekend was, of course, near-perfect. *sigh* I guess she's a city girl at heart.

Apologies also to JB - I don't mean to be an agent of chaos; it just kinda happens!

Anyway, thanks again for your patience, and it was good to see folks. Brodie would apologize too, except, well, she's Brodie.

We weren't staying in the cabins, and I think I only saw you and Brodie at a distance... I'm sorry you had to go home to get Brodie to stop barking - I would have enjoyed getting to visit with you!

FWIW, I was in cabin B, (middle cabin, opposite side of you) and I only heard the dog bark once Friday night. It didn't bother me at all.

I was in the end of cabin B and didn't hear a thing from Brodie. I did hear someone snoring pretty heavily one night (though it didn't particularly bother me). Sorry you felt you had to leave, but it was nice that [livejournal.com profile] zlana could get a cabin, given her injury, so some good came of it.

I gather that was Dr.Jon snoring. I was in the bunk above him, but I had my Sooper Earplugs in and didn't hear a thing from either my husband or the neighboring dog.

(Last year next to certain kids taught me to bring earplugs.)

I'd been wondering where you were on Sunday. Sorry to hear it. Not sure where the front cabin is; if it's the one leading off from the parking lot, I can say she didn't bark when I walked by...

I'm sorry you had to leave, but it was good to see you and also give lots of Brody-scritches. This here userpic is Molly, also a (suspected) Labradoodle and the bestest doggie ever.

Aw, hon, no worries. Brodie did bark at me once (I was on my way to the shower Sat morning) but it didn't bother me and FWIW, I never heard her barking otherwise. It certainly didn't disturb me, or my husband (I asked him).

I was sorry that you felt you needed to leave; it was good to see you however briefly.
