[identity profile] miss-chance.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] baitcon
I'll be bringing some art supplies to Baitcon, and looking for people to act as models. I prefer nude models, so I thought I might set up down by the creek, but I could be interested in dressed models, too. If you've never modeled before, and are interested in trying, let me know--you can either reply here, drop me some email, or just ask me at the con. If you hear anyone expressing curiosity and interest who might not have read this post, let them know, too, that I'm psyched to have new people model.

I'm particularly interested in amateur and "non-traditional" models-- when I draw from professional models the drawings all come out with approximately the same "art school" feel to them that doesn't interest me so much right now.

I won't paint anyone nude without permission, and if I sketch you doing some random activity, the chances of it being identifiable are pretty low. :-) Still, if being sketched is a horrific thought to you best to let me know.

I'll also bring an extra easel or two and extra materials if anyone else wants to draw. Feel free to ask.

I'm confortable modeling, though I do prefer that anything with my naked image be sufficiently tasteful as to pass the "Mom, this is art, not porn" filter. :-)

I've done a bit of modeling for a photographer friend as an in-kind swap (he posed for me), but I have no training in modeling.

Heck, I might even ask to borrow the extra easel. It's been ages since I've drawn or painted.

I've worked as an 'Art' model for years, so I've got no issue with being painted or scetched. Most likely I'll be busy slathering myself and others in henna paste, so that might keep it from looking too 'posed' or affected looking. I think I know what you're talking about, as I often work with other models, and yeah it can get little silly in terms of 'too poised looking'.

Sounds fun, count me in.

Diane and I will be camping in a brown VW bus, so we shouldn't be too hard to find.

No problem about the modeling; I've done it before for photos but was never actually paid for it (which means I could still compete in the Olympics). As for the nude side of things, my only objection is sun exposure. For photos, obviously this is a quick issue. But for drawing...hmm. We'll have to see.

I'd be interested. What do you need or find appealing and challenging in a model?

As I mentioned the other day, I am interested. Just need to slather myself in sunscreen first!

Having once taken an art class and learning the value to be had in having a live breathing fully posable naked human around to draw, full of all the nooks and crannies we all get as we age, I am more than happy to be part of the art/art education process and volunteer my services as a model to your cause. Nifty me feature= complete absence of left/right symmetry :)

Meanwhile, I also have some random art supplies languishing around my house from said class (Charcoal 101) and am happy to donate their remains to the cause as well. Will add to my list of thigns to bring along. -H...

I think I qualify as reasonably "non-traditional".

I could be willing to model.

You are welcome to use me as a model; I like myself in my body, as long as the usual slather with sunscreen applies. :-)
