This ice cream man is driven by his dream
b.good co-owner enjoying the ride

An aluminum truck painted jet black with orange flames barrels down Boylston Street in Back Bay. As "Shake Your Booty" booms from its speakers, a parade of office workers on lunch break look up bemused. Pulling into a loading zone, Jon Olinto, co-owner of b.good, slides open the window and shouts: "Who wants a shake?"

Yeah, the gourmet food truck thing has been on the west coast for a while, hit NYC over the past two years, so look for more upscale food from mobile sources soonish...

That's the thing, "gourmet"; lots of college towns and urban places have had grease trucks with really nice food for a long time. But now there's this sort of white-collar upscale "we went to restaurant school and are proud to be in a truck" kind of thing, with crepes, upscale ice cream, cupcakes, etc. One truck I saw in SF had French food (not crepes, stuff like pheasant I think) and was projecting a film on a screen hooked to a fence next to the truck.

Okay, so I just skimmed it, so I may have missed something, but I don't think the article actually mentioned ICE CREAM. It mentioned the ice cream truck and the ice cream man, but what we're really after is that sweet, sometimes gooey, frozen center. The only edible thing it mentions is shakes, and as far as I'm concerned, shakes exist to try and make boring ice cream exciting. They are selling an image, and there's nothing wrong with that, but I'd want to know what flavors they offer and whether their ice cream's any good.

They aren't selling anything! They're giving away (for free) strawberry banana shakes, presumably something healthier than ice cream given the theme of the restaurant.
