6 weeks to Baitcon!

Baitcon XVIII is now just six weeks away! If you are planning on attending but haven't yet RSVP'd, you may want to consider dropping us a line soon because after June 20th, the rates will rise. Comments and/or discussion here on LJ or on IRC or even in person are generally NOT considered RSVPs.

The website was updated this evening - the rideboard is up, the lodging page has been updated and there are some pictures of the new site (though not the map or big overview as of yet). www.baitcon.org

The next website update will happen around June 23rd and will include information about what to bring, logistics, weather forecast link, tentative menus and hopefully some info about a few cool things we're going to have happening during the weekend.

If you have spare carpet pieces to donate and/or solar-powered path lanterns (the type for driveways or backyards) that you would be willing loan us, please contact Kimberly.

...several room's worth of carpet from our townhouse.

If someone in the Northern Virginia area can go to Herndon on Monday and pick up the old carpet, the Baitcon crew may have it.

Odds of Pam and I making Baitcon are exceedingly low, although I would love to go for once!

I could certainly do that as I'm down here taking care of my Dad.
I could rent an appropriately sized vehicle. The trick will be finding someone to load it for me - I've got a fractured lumbar vertebrae so no lifting for me. Is there a particular time that would be good for you guys on Monday?

Thanks for the transportation offer - after a bunch of discussion about where to store it and getting it up there, we've decided to pass. Tamar has some carpet she's removing and it will be easier to use that since it's pretty much located where Baitcon storage currently is ...

The carpet crew and the carpenters will be there all day. I'll call the carpenter crew and ask if they can help you load.

I don't know when they'll be done taking out the old carpet, but I imagine it's close to the first thing they do.
