Baitcon Geocaching Map
Jun. 21st, 2007 08:35 pmIn relation to my previous question, I have made a Google Map of caches nearby the new Baitcon site. I do this just as a way to take notes and see the big picture, but I'll share. =)
CACHING MAP
I find clicking "hybrid" to be very informative.
This is NOT an exhaustive list, as I ignored anything over 5 miles away with a difficulty over 3. I included caches farther away if they had a lower difficulty (thus better for group hikes).
If this is wanted as a link to the Baitcon site, feel free to take it. Not all cachers are on LJ!

Re: hanc0ck h1j1nx: more info
Date: 2007-07-27 04:43 am (UTC)The geocache 'M1ss1ng V1ew B0x' seems to be very close to the eastermost of the two crossings of the Qu4ker trail and the forest boundary. So it seems that one could hike five miles and get to that spot from baitcon (and five miles back).
A possible shorter trip could be: people get dropped off at the end of West St., hike to the cache, and then they could either a) hike back and get picked up at West st, b) hike on down to where gr1ff1n meets the highway and get picked up, or c) go for the gusto and hike all the way back to camp, equalling 3.5, 5, and 7 mile trips respectively. The party could split up at the geocache and the highway crossing, Each person could hike as far as they see fit and wouldn't have to decide until they were actually at those points whether or not to go further.
I'm sorry if the above is a bit disjoint, but I'm getting ready to leave for PennSic and I'm sure I'd forget about all this by the time I got back. At least until shortly before next baitcon.
