second box of books

1: if you haven't paid for your pre-ordered Harry Potter book, please do so soon. And then remember to tell me. We'll take paypal, but you need to bring my attention to the payment. Just tell me the address that your payment is from so I can sort it out from the rest.

2: I know I missed someone saying to me the other day that they were interested in being on the second list of books, if we get another 10 of them. But for the life of me, though I remember the context and words, I've forgotten the person. Please remind me if you see this.

the first 10 people will be getting books. The second list will be getting books *if* we reach 10 orders. We need 6 more to do that. There will not be books to be bought there; they must be preordered, because I'm a really lame dealer's room. On the off chance we hit 20, I will then wait list people in case others don't pay beforehand ('cause I'm not carrying $700 around on the trip). The store can only spare 20 books from their own first weekend sales.

It's now 10 July and we're wondering how much of a second box has been filled. We wouldn't want to prevent other people from being able to order if we backed out, but if the second box isn't close to being filled, we'd like to look into ordering the book elsewhere. There a loooong trip back to the UK in our future and J is particularly keen to have HP to read on that trip.

doesn't look like the second box will be filled, but I have 4 people on the first box who haven't paid yet and who I'm giving until thursday to cough it up. you're first on the list of waiting people because you have a more pressing need than most ;-) I don't think getting you a copy will be a problem, and if I mess it up, you can have mine and I'll suffer through until I get back to get it ;-)

But the timing of the urgency might have been mis-communicated (sorry!). We aren't heading back to the UK directly after Baitcon; we'll be around for another week. Since our need is to have the book by the time we leave the US (the 30th), we're happy to get the book by other means. No need to bump us up to the front of the waiting list. In fact, we should be last priority since we wouldn't likely get to reading the book before the 30th.

Since it looks like it might be a close call on filling the first box if the 4 remaining people don't pay and you need 4 more orders to fill it, please post the status on Thursday or as soon as you know it. If it looks you'll definitely need our order to finish filling the first box, we'll do so. Otherwise, we'll order the book through other means.
