EDIT: AH CRUD. How comes my calendar thought Baitcon was July 27-29?!! Bangs head against wall. (ouch). It conflicts with something a lot closer (day trip even).

I'm going to have to wait until I see what the weather forecast is to make a final decision about Baitcon. It's one of the joys of having MS - there's no way I'm going to camp if it's too hot and I can't really afford to go if I have to find a hotel room.

Really, I can't afford to go at all (between gas & time I could be making stuff at home). One thing that could influence my decision is if anyone wants to buy some tie dye. I've got a van full of the stuff and will be making more between now & then. If there is interest I'll just bring my van.

Another is if anyone wants to split travel costs with me - I can only take one passenger, and it would have to be someone who would most likely be driving solo - so they can ditch their car at close to the last minute. I'll post more potential ride details later (or check out the board) after I've made a real decision. But would be an early departure from the DC area. (I've already taken off that Friday)

You can always ask us about scholarship too - don't forget that option.
I don't think we've got any cabin space left unless someone cancels.

Bait suggested that at Balticon - but there are a lot of other expenses involved - plus time. If I go I'll end up brining a lot of my own food & drink, so for planning purposes it shouldn't matter much. I really have not been planing too far in advance - my big thing for the summer (for the year actually) was the trip to Montana I went on last week... . I borrowed money for that & am hoping it ends up being a good investment. Here's one of the pics from the trip:

I just realized that I had the date for Baitcon wrong & there's another (closer & cheaper) event. We should talk about tie dye - there's always the usps. I'll try to get my online inventory updated and will post something on my LJ.

Speaking of tie-dye, I have a few things that either have had unfortunate laundry incidents or are colors that I would prefer changed. I'd love to have you dye them sometime. We should talk. :)

I'm not going to make it to Baitcon - I had the date wrong!! I was too sick to go to this other event last year and really want to go this year. Plus I had told them the weekend was good (and the next bad).

actually, you had the pre-announced date right... then it was adjusted sometime later to accommodate? those who would also want to attend Falcon Ridge Folx Festival which was the same week/end, so they moved it back a week to the current date. which of course conflicts with other stuff, but Baitcon uber alles, and i know where i'm camping :> or something.

i didn't notice that date change until something like early JUNE. good thing i did i guess. the change was announced the same week my mom died, so i wasn't exactly really paying attention to party dates and grabs. oh well.

so, no, you weren't imagining the dates as set originally. :)

Thanks - it's good to know that at one time my calendar was correct and I didn't screw up like I thought I did. I just didn't see the memo that the date had been changed (after searching email and LJ seems there was only ONE LJ post about the change - and I never noticed when I looked at the web site). I can totally understand why you originally missed it too and sorry to hear about your loss.
