Hi, everyone. I'm Rachel (the blonde chick with the fuzzy black guide dog), and I have a slightly odd request. I know quite a few of the folks at Baitcon, and I even like a whole bunch of you. :) All the love in the world, however, will not enable me to see you any better, particularly in bright sunlight. So if/when you see me this weekend and you come up to say hi or chat, please let me know who you are so I don't feel like a total dork when I can't necessarily tell. ("Hi, Rachel! It's Murgatroyd. Hey, have you tried the telephone-flavored ice cream yet?") Otherwise I will spend half of Baitcon going, "Oh no, who was that?" While this is hardly your problem, I'll have a much easier time remembering you if I can connect your name with the correct conversations/experiences.

Note that if you have dated me or slept with me or anything like that, you are (of course) exempt from this request - I'm pretty sure I can recognize you by now. JB is also exempt, because he is decidedly Large Print(tm). (It's a compliment, trust me - I know his voice and basic shape).

Also, and I know you all know this already, when Brodie is wearing her harness, she's on duty, and should not be approached or touched. When she's out of harness, she's more-or-less fair game, but it can't hurt to check. Please, for the love of gassy gassy dogs, DO NOT FEED HER. I don't care if she swears to you that she's never been fed in her life, SHE IS LYING. :)

I'm not going to baitcon this year, but I'd love to someday get together with you and yak about dogs. Guide dogs just totally fascinate me! Their training is so amazing!

Parents should make sure their kids know this, maybe even have greeting tent people remind folks with children to have this conversation
