fiddlehead ice cream?

This is my first Baitcon and I'd like to contribute an ice cream flavor. I found this recipe for fiddlehead ice cream that seems appropriate but can't find any fiddleheads. Any suggestions? Presumably, they would have to be frozen or canned since it's so late in the year (if I don't do it this year, I will plan better next year).

I've had them frozen and packaged (http://norcliff.com/products.php); I think the person got them at Trader Joe's. Or perhaps Whole Foods.

Where are you coming from and how many fiddleheads do you need? I saw fiddleheads in our local Roche Bros. chain store here in Quincy MA just last week.

The recipe calls for 36 fiddleheads and makes 1.5 liters, which seems like a lot so I may cut it down. I'm coming from the Framingham-Natick area. I will likely be in Quincy Thursday evening.

Shaw's in our area had fiddleheads last week so there may still be some around.
