[identity profile] moechus.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] baitcon
This is my first Baitcon and I'd like to contribute an ice cream flavor. I found this recipe for fiddlehead ice cream that seems appropriate but can't find any fiddleheads. Any suggestions? Presumably, they would have to be frozen or canned since it's so late in the year (if I don't do it this year, I will plan better next year).

The fiddleheads in my backyard usually appear in the early spring.

too late, sadly; the last ones I saw at markets were about 6 weeks back

I've had them frozen and packaged (http://norcliff.com/products.php); I think the person got them at Trader Joe's. Or perhaps Whole Foods.

:spends time she shouldn't:
Ah, Whole Foods (http://norcliff.com/specs/12oz). (Among other places)

Yay! I feel flush with usefulness! Now to get back to packing.

Where are you coming from and how many fiddleheads do you need? I saw fiddleheads in our local Roche Bros. chain store here in Quincy MA just last week.

Shaw's in our area had fiddleheads last week so there may still be some around.
