the weather reports lately for this area, and within a few hours of same, have generally been rather useless at the predicting part, even same or next day, i can't imagine how they can state with any confidence what the weather is likely to be 3-4 days out.
they've been wrong on temps, storms, severity, winds, etc across the board so often, i just stick my head out the door and check myself.
my observations:
we have been getting extremely quick building, fast moving, and intense rain/thunder storms. i don't expect that to change. some of these things move in and WHAM, you have monsoon quality rain, thunder, lightnings, winds, and 10s of minutes later, nothing, and blue sky, then when you aren't looking, it does it again. and again. and again. like yesterday (whoa, hail). like monday. intense.
rain gear would be mandatory, unless you like the frolic.
keep those tents closed and sealed at all times unless you like your own lake. nothing more sad at a festival than people caught out unawares like that. no dryers for those sleeping bags and wet things. large tupperware bins wouldn't hurt (hi Jim).
that said, also expect really nice weather. mountains: lovely. weather: subject to change and much discussion. temps: assume low 40s to high 90s. sudden gusts of bugs from the NW, with occasional faeries and giant bubbles, weathers permitting. apply icecream as needed.
no subject
