air mattress technique?

baitconI'm thinking to borrow an air mattress for this weekend, but I'm realizing that most of my memories of "all manner of people seem to have air mattresses" are from Mink Hollow, when the distances from Power/Cars were far shorter.
Those of you who've used air mattresses at the current locale -- how have you gone about inflating them and getting them into tents what with the distances to where we camp?
Aigh. How did it get to be the end of June already? Need to buy amaretto and habaneros.
