tiger stripe ice cream

For some reason I have recently remembered a flavor of ice cream I have only tasted in Canada, and that was decades ago. It's called "tiger stripe," "tiger tail," or "tiger tiger," and it's orange ice cream or sherbet with a black licorice swirl. I know that this probably sounds really weird to most people, but I remember loving it and now I am obsessed with the idea of making some for Baitcon.

Problem is, I can't find a recipe for either the specific flavor or for making a licorice swirl. I'm not sure if my google-fu is not up to the task or if Canadians never make it themselves at home. :-} I don't suppose any Canadians who happen to read this could help me out?

Weird ice cream flavors at Baitcon? SHOCKING!

would you put actual licorice in it? or an anise flavored swirl? Either way it sounds really good.

I've certainly made, and eaten, stranger flavors than the one I'm describing here. :) I know a lot of people don't like black licorice, but I love it (as long as it's not salted or mentholated, yuck).

I would want to make a licorice syrup of some sort so that I could do a swirl.
