Does anyone have a source for gobs and gobs of free Mardi Gras beads? Or even just a handful? I have another 50 spoons that I'm about to drill holes in to make more necklaces.
a couple dozen spoons with holes in their handles
Last year Persis gave me 100+ strands of Mardi Gras beads (thank you, Persis!), all of which got turned into spoon necklaces.

We have some around someplace… unless I gave them to you already in the past?

Are you local to or at least near Davis Square? I have twelve cheap bead necklaces that were thrown at me over the years at various First Night parades or Honk festivals or other such events. I'd be happy to give them to you.

(But I don't really understand what you're going to do with them and spoons)

How can I get them to you? If you send me your street address and it's within, say, 6 miles biking distance from Davis (Arlington, Belmont, Cambridge, Somerville, Medford), I can just deliver them tonight or tomorrow.

You can give them to me next Tuesday at Diesel... and I can give them to 42itous at Tech Squares.

Not necessary. I just now delivered them to [livejournal.com profile] 42itous's front door.

If you go to Carnaval @ SomerStreets in East Somerville this Sunday afternoon, you may find more, either thrown from the parade or discarded in the street afterwards.

They are not free, but they are cheap.

You should ask [livejournal.com profile] miss_chance and her housemates.

We can dig some up, but not 50. Definitely at least a handful. Also, we have the spoon necklaces you brought to our house last year still kicking around.

I can probably dig up someone with a drill press. I am contemplating whether [livejournal.com profile] gljiva would like to drill a bunch of spoons with me the week before Baitcon, as an educational project. :)
