air mattress technique?

I'm thinking to borrow an air mattress for this weekend, but I'm realizing that most of my memories of "all manner of people seem to have air mattresses" are from Mink Hollow, when the distances from Power/Cars were far shorter.

Those of you who've used air mattresses at the current locale -- how have you gone about inflating them and getting them into tents what with the distances to where we camp?

Aigh. How did it get to be the end of June already? Need to buy amaretto and habaneros.

I have a mattress and battery powered pump to loan, but no way to get it to you/baitcon unless you're getting there via Boston (unlikely, I suspect).
My plans currently are to motorcycle there and thus pack light. which means I'll be using my hammock tent instead of bulkier gear so the mattress is available, but also means if I can't pack it for me I can't pack it for anyone else either. I might be able to arrange to send stuff there in someone else's car, but hadn't planned to.

If the pump isn't mattress specific I've got a couple different possible mattresses, depending on how much time I can carve out of my next few evenings (E's bringing a full to ffeet tonight, but since there's just me Badm's twin is more attractive)

battery powered @ the tent seems far easier than plug-in not@the tent ('specially if I manage to get Badm's smaller mattress), but if you're motorcycling I figured you wouldn't have the space...
